How to Make Matcha Cloud at Home
Matcha Cream
- Sift 2-3 g matcha into a bowl.
- 2. Add about 10 ml warm water (70°C) and whisk into a smooth paste.
- 3. Add 60 ml whipping cream to the bowl with the paste and whip with a hand frother until creamy but still pourable.

Build the Drink
- Fill the glass with ice.
- Add coconut water up to the ice line.
- Pour matcha cream slowly on top.
360 ml (12 oz) glass is recommended for this recipe.

Tips for the Perfect Whipped Matcha Layer
The pour decides everything here.
Cream that's too thin sinks straight through and the two layers disappear into each other. Cream that's too thick refuses to move at all — it sits on the surface instead of settling in.
Whip cold cream. If it's been sitting at room temperature, chill it again before starting — it holds air better cold.
The matcha paste needs to be fully smooth before the cream goes in. Any lump that survives this stage will still be there in the glass.
